A oitava edi\u00e7\u00e3o do pr\u00eamio ter\u00e1 cerim\u00f4nia de entrega ao ganhador durante a abertura do 27\u00ba Simp\u00f3sio Internacional de ELA\/DNM, que ser\u00e1 realizado em Dublin, na Irlanda, em dezembro.<\/p>\n<p>Os pr\u00eamios oferecidos n\u00e3o utilizam recursos provenientes de doa\u00e7\u00f5es para o Instituto Paulo Gontijo (IPG). O pr\u00eamio conta com parceria da Alian\u00e7a Internacional de ELA\/DNM, da MND Association e da European Network for the Cure of ALS \u2013 ENCALS.<\/p>\n<p>A esclerose lateral amiotr\u00f3fica (ELA) provoca a morte de neur\u00f4nios motores e causa paralisia total dos movimentos e \u00e9 a terceira doen\u00e7a neurodegenerativa que mais acomete pessoas no mundo. Estima-se que 15 mil brasileiros tenham a doen\u00e7a.<\/p>\n<p>Incentivar a pesquisa cient\u00edfica e disseminar as informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre o diagn\u00f3stico e o tratamento da doen\u00e7a \u00e9 a miss\u00e3o do Instituto Paulo Gontijo.<\/p>\n<p>O per\u00edodo de inscri\u00e7\u00e3o e envio de trabalhos vai at\u00e9 1\u00ba de julho. Podem concorrer ao pr\u00eamio jovens pesquisadores de at\u00e9 40 anos, de qualquer nacionalidade.
