Taxa de desocupa\u00e7\u00e3o se refere \u00e0s pessoas sem trabalho na semana da pesquisa, mas que est\u00e3o em busca <strong><em>emprego<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Os dados fazem parte da Pesquisa Mensal de Emprego (PME) divulgada pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estat\u00edstica (IBGE). Eles indicam que, quando comparado a janeiro do ano passado, a alta foi 0,5 ponto percentual.<\/p>\n<p>O instituto mostra que a popula\u00e7\u00e3o desocupada ficou em 1,3 milh\u00e3o de pessoas, aumentando 22,5% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a dezembro de 2014 \u2013 o equivalente a 237 mil pessoas. Quando comparado a janeiro do ano passado, a alta foi 10,7% \u2013 125 mil pessoas a mais.<\/p>\n<p>A popula\u00e7\u00e3o ocupada, em contrapartida, caiu 0,9%, ficando em 23 milh\u00f5es de trabalhadores, comparativamente a dezembro, menos 220 mil pessoas, e ficou est\u00e1vel na compara\u00e7\u00e3o com janeiro de 2014.<\/p>\n<p>A popula\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o economicamente ativa, ou seja, n\u00e3o inserida no mercado de trabalho, foi estimada em 19,3 milh\u00f5es de pessoas, mantendo-se est\u00e1vel em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a dezembro e crescendo 2,9% em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a janeiro de 2014.
